  • Ball plugging - Learn to plug bowling balls with the best tips and tricks to prevent cracking, chipping, and failure. Our team will teach about the intricacies of ball plug and why it can be so stubborn at times!

  • Ball refinishing and resurfacing - You'll have to refinish those plugged balls. We'll show you the best methods to refinish your bowling equipment for a smooth and even finish.

  • Ball weighing - Having a customer's bowling ball rejected at the tournament is one of the worst things that can happen to a pro shop operator. So don't let it happen again! Let us teach you the proper ways to weigh a bowling ball according to USBC rules.

  • Hand fitting - Fitting; it's the most important aspect of the purchasing process for a new bowling ball.  Without a good fit, there's no chance for that customer to repeat and execute a quality bowling shot.  We'll show you how to fit somebody in their body's natural “fitting range,” minimizing the chances for hand issues with your customers.

  • Lane play techniques - Are the lanes dry today?  What pattern are we bowling on?  How does it affect where I should play?  We'll answer all that and much more with our lane play techniques section.  You'll be able to quickly identify the proper spot to play, increasing your chances for better scores.

  • Pro shop startup - You can't just open a door and expect it to work!  There's a lot of preparation and topics to consider before starting in this business.  Will you have employees?  What about theft issues?  Can you afford to be in this business?

  • Pro shop pricing strategies - In one of our favorite discussions, we'll show you different pricing strategies for all of the segments of your business.  Should the bowling ball price include drilling?  How should you price against our competition?  We'll spend a great deal of time on these subjects and much more.

  • Pro shop daily operation - Once you've got that dream store open, you've got to keep things rolling!  We'll give you some great tips and ideas to keep your business operating efficiently, while maximizing your bottom line.

  • Bowling ball construction - So how's a bowling ball actually made?  What does the inside of a ball look like?  In bowling ball construction, we'll take you through a history of bowling equipment.  We'll also talk about how we actually mass produce a bowling ball!

  • Bowling ball properties - The ball has been made, and now it's landed at your pro shop shelf.  So what does radius of gyration mean?  Does differential really affect my ball reaction?  All this and more will be discussed when teach the actual properties of the bowling ball.

  • Bowler applied forces - Every bowler is different.  With those different bowlers come different releases.  With those different releases come different ball reactions.  Each bowler has their "signature" ball reaction.  We'll show you how to modify that signature, and how it can help you and your customers!

  • Bowling ball layout - Bowling ball layout is the big daddy of our class.  We'll spend approximately one and a half days talking about the bowling ball layout process and physically laying out balls.  Don't worry; we'll get to all of your questions and much, much more!  From pin distance, to vertical axis lines, to degree layouts, we'll show you the best ways to modify and change ball reactions to your customer's advantage.

  • Bowling ball drilling - We'll wrap up our 5-day training class with bowling ball drilling.  Is it better to drill the fingers or the thumb first?  Does it even matter?  How do you drill oval and custom holes with a mill machine?  We'll show you all of the latest techniques on the newest drilling equipment on the market.
